Mammograms are one of the most important health screenings that women age 40 or older can have. Not because they prevent cancer, but because they save lives by detecting the disease as early as possible. In fact, finding breast cancer early reduces a woman’s risk of dying from the disease by 25-30% if not more. With the convenience of Saint Joseph Hospital’s mobile mammography unit, there is no reason to miss getting a potentially life-saving mammogram. With help from The Salah Foundation, St. Joseph’s Hospital could purchase a mobile mammography unit.

Salah Foundation challenge grants have supported two of Kristi House’s most important core programs: our Therapy program and our program for sex trafficked children. Salah Foundation grants generated excitement and inspired donors to meet the challenge each time. They came at critical junctures in our organization’s development, propelling us forward in service to our South Florida community and in leadership to the field. On the individual level—for the clients we serve—the grants have meant the difference between a life destroyed and a life restored… a future forever impaired or triumphant and violence-free.

The Kids of Love foundation helps children and families who battle with cancer and other debilitating illnesses. We provide Toy and Health Snack Karts at the Salah Foundation Children’s’ Hospitals year-round. We visit all the children in the hospital and Emergency Room and create less stress and anxiety by providing the children with new toys, games, books, and craft projects, which helps keep them stimulated and encourages child development. With the assistance and support of Mrs. Noreen Salah Burpee and The Salah Foundation, we have created lasting, positive change in the lives of the children and adolescents suffering from adversity and unable to live and enjoy life to the fullest. We love turning frowns upside down!
