A major investment from the Salah Foundation is expanding the Museum of Discovery and Science’s A Day in K: I’m Going to Kindergarten program, doubling the event to two nights and increasing capacity to 3,500 children and caregivers. This support keeps the program free for families, offering hands-on learning activities, school-readiness resources, health screenings, dinner, and take-home supplies, helping young learners enter kindergarten with confidence and reduced anxiety.

The Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) mission is connecting people to inspiring science. To fulfill our mission, MODS focuses on four educational content pillars, with early childhood education as one of the primary pillars. To strengthen early childhood education, the Salah Foundation is supporting the implementation and expansion of A Day in K: I’m Going to Kindergarten in June 2026, the Museum’s annual free kindergarten readiness event for Broward early learners and their families. Salah Foundation support enables MODS to meet community demand by expanding A Day in K to two nights, increase impact from 2,000 to 3,500 children and caregivers, reach more families affected by poverty and low education and remove the financial barrier to participation by keeping this event free.
Through educational and simulated school activities, caregiver access to health screenings and school resources, dinner and refreshments, plus a book and educational supplies given to each child, A Day in K minimizes anxiety and maximizes a child’s ability to learn. Salah Foundation supports MODS ability to continue impacting children and families: “My son loved it! He was curious, attentive and learning the whole time.” “One of the best museums I’ve ever been to with my kids.”
